The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association(AAIA) is hosting a complimentary, 30-minute, members-only webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. EDT on understanding health care reform and its impact on small employers. This is the second in a series of five webinars being hosted by AAIA this fall on the different aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA); the first webinar will be hosted on Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. EDT. The webinar will be presented by Anita Baker, managing partner, employee benefit plans, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP.
Beginning in 2014, under the provisions of the ACA, small businesses (those with less than 50 full-time employees and full-time equivalents) will have the option of purchasing coverage through a Small Business Health Option Program (SHOP) available through the state or federal marketplace. Employers with fewer than 25 full-time equivalent employees may be eligible for the small employer tax credit. Attendees will learn how to comply with the employee notification requirement effective Oct. 1, the status of the state and federal marketplaces, what options are available to small employers and provisions of the ACA that impact employers including tax credits, premiums and fees.
Presenter Anita Baker specializes in providing assurance, tax and consulting services to plan sponsors and third-party administrators. She is responsible for CliftonLarsonAllen’s national employee benefit plans practice and is a leading consultant on the impact of health care reform on group health plans and employers.
In addition to this series of webinars, AAIA members have access to more exclusive information on health care reform, and can register for a discounted health insurance and penalty (HIP) report specific to their company via the AAIA website at www.aftermarket.org/healthcare.
