The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, June 25, at 4 p.m. ET: “OBDII Between the Lines: EVAP Systems.” The webinar will be taught by technical trainer Rick Escalambre and will cover the theory, tips, and techniques to service evaporative emission (EVAP) systems and common EVAP issues.
This will include examining the troubleshooting process for these systems, including checking the vacuum decay system, the pressure/vacuum split system, the natural vacuum leak detection system, and the pump system. The webinar will also discuss handling driver-seat diagnostics and non-readiness active tests and bidirectional tests. Finally, the course is likely to delve into visual inspections, how to use leak detection machines safely, and how to plan to use smoke or CO2 to diagnose a system and confirm repair results in MODE $06.
