Last year, Fullbay’s annual State of Heavy-Duty Repair survey report found that efforts to save money were actually devaluing independent shops to the fleets they served, among other key insights to track the commercial diesel industry. Now, Fullbay’s third survey is open for responses until Oct. 10, 2022, and can be accessed on Fullbay’s website.
“We hope shops are able to use the report to understand how they’re performing compared to their peers, utilize best practices, and better understand how the industry is handling challenges,” said Fullbay Executive Chairman Jacob Findlay.
To do so, the anonymous asks industry professionals, from technicians to shop owners in independent and internal fleet operations, to share their experiences with heavy-duty repair shops over the past year. Once the survey has been closed and the responses collated, Fullbay will then create a comprehensive report of the responses, providing a transparent look at the industry for the coming year.

“Hearing the voices of those on the frontline of our industry allows the industry as a whole to know what challenges shops are facing, and hopefully to provide solutions,” said Patrick McKittrick, CEO of Fullbay.
In particular, the report will target the parts shortage and its disruptions to shops, industry trends regarding commercial repair services, and technician benchmarks for efficiency, hourly wages, and more. Last year, Fullbay used anonymized customer repair data from their platform paired with answers from 900 survey respondents to gain insight into these factors, producing one of the few reports that exclusively examine the commercial diesel industry. This year’s report will be free to download in 2023.
The survey will only take 8-10 minutes to complete, and to garner the responses needed, Fullbay is offering $100 Amazon gift cards to ten randomly-selected participants as well as over 20 Fullbay swag packages, including a shirt, hat, charging cable, pen, tumbler, stickers, and more.
2021-2022’s annual report can also be found on Fullbay’s website.
