Pilot Flying J announces new locations

By the end of 2016, Pilot Flying J will have opened 17 new stores and added more than 1,000 jobs to the local communities.

Pilot Flying J continues to expand its company footprint in order to offer guests and professional drivers enhanced food options, fuel and conveniences when traveling North America’s highways. During July through September, Pilot Flying J opened four new locations throughout the Midwest and Southern parts of the United States, adding an additional 280 new jobs to the local communities. The company also announced plans to open two more locations – adding an additional 140 local jobs.

“This year proved to be a great year of growth for Pilot Flying J. By the end of the year we will have opened a total of 17 stores in 2016 and added more than 1,000 local jobs to the communities where we operate,” said Ken Parent, president at Pilot Flying J. “As we look towards 2017, we’re continuing to pay close attention to travelers’ needs on the road and we’re regularly listening to professional drivers to ensure we’re opening locations where we’re needed most.”

Each new location features full amenities for professional drivers, as well as area residents and travelers, including:

  • Multiple fueling positions and diesel lanes with high-speed pumps for quicker refueling
  • PJ Fresh – many fast, casual food offerings, including roasted chicken, meatloaf, pizza, soup, salads, sandwiches and hot dogs
  • Premium Pilot Coffee and cappuccino selections
  • Everyday products for quick shopping needs
  • Showers, as well as driver lounges in many locations
  • Pilot Flying J’s newly-enhanced wireless internet network, which is complimentary inside the stores 

 New locations opened from July 1 through September 31 include:

  • Santa Rosa, New Mexico – 2464 Historic Route 66 (I-40 and HWY-84); features Subway, Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, as well as 10 gas and auto diesel pumps and eight diesel lanes
  • North Charleston/Hanahan, South Carolina –5714 North Rhett Avenue; features Arby’s, Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, as well as 16 gas and auto diesel pumps and eight diesel lanes
  • Stratford, Texas – 100 South Poplar (HWY-287 and 54); features Subway and Pizza Hut, as well as 10 gas and auto diesel pumps and seven diesel lanes
  • Springfield, Missouri – 4939 West Chestnut Expressway (I-44, Exit 72); features Wendy’s, Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, as well as 12 gas and auto diesel pumps and nine diesel lanes 

Locations slated for opening include:

  • Marion, Indiana – 6252 State Rte. 18 East (I-69, Exit 264); features Wendy’s, Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon, as well as 16 gas and auto diesel pumps and eight diesel lanes
  • Patterson, California – 2275 Sperry Avenue (I-5, Exit 434); features Wendy’s, Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon, as well as 16 gas and auto diesel pumps, four RV fueling stations and nine diesel lanes

Additionally, the Flying J at 1720 W Thompson Road in Indianapolis, Indiana (I-465, Exit 4) and the Pilot Travel Center at 2601 South Range Avenue in Denham Springs, Louisiana (I-12, Exit 10) will reopen before the end of the year after recent reconstruction.

 The combined network of more than 650 Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers across North America serves more than 1.3 million guests daily.
