Hino Trucks unifies entire commercial vehicle lineup

Oct. 29, 2019
Three new models were announced to create a cohesive family of commercial trucks for the company.

Hino Trucks, a Toyota Group Company, announced their new lineup of trucks during the North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) Show in Atlanta this week. Each vehicle will now contain larger cab configurations.

Dominik Beckman, director of marketing and dealer operations at Hino Trucks, was on stage at NACV to introduce the new models, advising the new designs were developed to create a cohesive family of commercial trucks for the company. "The full lineup has elevated in terms of safety, functionality, and design," Beckman said.

The models include: M Series, L Series, and XL Series. The M Series has replaced Hino’s Class 4 and 5 cab-over 155 and 195 models. The M Series features a new exterior design and increased safety and functionality, such as lane departure warning system, driver seat belt sensor, and a 4.2” LCD multi-information display. The series will carry the model names Hino M4, M5, and M5h (hybrid).

Hino’s Conventional Class 6 and 7 model’s 258, 268, 338 will be replaced by the L Series. The L Series will carry the model name Hino L6 and L7 and offers similar features as the M Series with additions including an active safety system, new wheelbase options, an interior designed for commercial grade use, and a 7” LCD monitor.

The XL Series contains Hino XL7 and XL8 and features active cruise control for added safety. In 2021, a snowplow package will become available.

In addition to the new series, Hino Trucks introduced that each vehicle will offer larger cab configurations. The extended cab will seat five passengers and add 30”. The crew cab will have the option to seat six passengers and add 44.8”. The crew cab will also feature full-size doors and be complete with air conditioning and heating.

The new series are available for order following NACV. The cab configurations will be available in spring 2021.
