Mitchell 1 releases 2025 emissions guide, partners on parts eCatalog

Nov. 25, 2024
The latest emissions guide will cover medium and heavy-duty domestic trucks and vans, while the parts catalog will include semi-truck and commercial vehicle parts.

Mitchell 1 has released its 2025 Emission Control Application Guide (ECAT25) and will be partnering with FinditParts Inc. to launch a heavy-duty parts eCatalog within its shop management software. Together, these additions will provide technicians with vehicle-specific emission system details along with easy access to Finditparts e-commerce platform without navigating to another site.

For ECAT25, the guide will cover domestic and import cars, light trucks, Class “A” motor homes with gasoline engines, medium and heavy-duty domestic trucks, and vans with diesel engines, all from model years 1966-2025.

“The 2025 ECAT guide is an invaluable resource for auto repair shops that perform emission testing and/or repairs, as it ensures they stay in compliance with state emission standards,” said Jen MacDonald, director of marketing for Mitchell 1.

More specifically, the guide will include:

  • An emission application table
  • Engine displacement conversion charts
  • Emission control visual inspection procedures
  • Approximately 40 years of domestic and imported basic ignition timing specifications
  • 1980-2024 maintenance reminder light reset procedures
  • The latest EPA emission recall bulletins
  • A quick reference listing for major systems, devices, and components

Meanwhile, Mitchell 1’s new eCatalog will be integrated with Mitchell 1’s Manager SE Truck Edition software, which also works with the company’s TruckSeries repair and diagnostics program.

“We are pleased to introduce the first-ever online parts catalog for Class 4-8 vehicles that is seamlessly integrated with a shop management program,” said Kristy Coffman, director of Mitchell 1’s Commercial Vehicle Group. “This collaboration marks a major milestone, as it gives independent shops instant access to millions of parts with just a few clicks. This will help technicians and service writers quickly find and purchase parts – reducing delays so shops can get trucks back on the road faster and more efficiently.”

With this integration, SE Truck Edition will provide access to OEM and aftermarket parts for semi-trucks and other commercial vehicles, allowing both techs and service writers to update quotes and work orders with real-time data from FinditParts’ catalog.
