Jim Davidson, general manager of SK Professional Tools, announced the launch of a new American-made Double-Tooth (DT) ratchet series, which will feature classic SK body designs with the new DT mechanism technology.

“At SK, our engineers are continuously working with auto techs to develop breakthrough products with practical applications,” Davidson said. “The new Double-Tooth technology immediately upgrades a ratchet you’ve most likely had for years to vastly improve the tool’s performance in a matter of seconds.”

The DT ratchets have been engineered to offer automotive technicians the option to add tooth count to a standard ratchet, which would instantly cut the original arc swing in half, while doubling the precision of the tool.

“When talking with techs, we discovered this ongoing frustration of not being able to completely gain access to areas with very limited space and movement, like getting to bolts in tight places for example,” said Brent Solar, SK Design Engineer. “We kept that in mind when we went to the drawing board, and we came up with the idea to keep our classic ratchet body, but with a new interchangeable mechanism that improves the tools versatility while boosting overall performance.”

The new 1/4” (120-teeth), 3/8” (80-teeth), and 1/2” (100-teeth) Double-Tooth Ratchets are available for purchase online or from authorized SK distributors. Techs have the option to purchase as a new ratchet or just the mechanism for an existing ratchet body.

Today, as part of IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC., SK’s distinctive, high-performance, polished SuperKrome tools are made in America by a global, family-owned company headquartered in Sycamore, Illinois with additional manufacturing facilities in Colorado Springs at Western Forge.

With more technicians now buying their tools and gear online, earlier this year SK launched its e-commerce site (www.SKTools.com).
