What makes a quality Battery Maintenance Program (BMP) different than other battery chargers and maintainers?

Aug. 27, 2017
Battery sulfation is the main cause of battery problems and failure on all types of lead acid batteries. Hence, eliminating sulfate buildup from lead-acid battery plates improves battery performance and extends battery life.

Q: What makes a quality BMP program different than other battery chargers and maintainers?

A: It’s important to take a holistic approach to any Battery Management Program that incorporates a diagnostic, preventative maintenance and corrective service program. This allows you to treat each battery after being removed from a vehicle and serviced, while waiting to be put back into use and once it installed in a vehicle. Battery sulfation is the main cause of battery problems and failure on all types of lead acid batteries, including flooded, AGM, VRLA, Gel and flooded cell. Hence, eliminating sulfate buildup from lead-acid battery plates improves battery performance and extends battery life. It is therefore important to ensure the BMP you use not only charges batteries, but recovers them by removing sulfate crystals from the battery plates.
