Ask the Expert: How can I prevent unauthorized fluid dispenses in my shop?

June 4, 2013
Consider a fluid control system to monitor fluid usage.

Q: How can I prevent unauthorized fluid dispenses in my shop?

A: Many shops are set up with the parts department responsible for dispenses, so those individuals have control of fluids. However, technicians in the service department actually dispense the fluids, so tracking it can be difficult.

With modern fluid control systems, the parts department can control dispenses from their office or PCs in the service bays, or keypads can be installed in the shop for use by authorized technicians.

Lincoln’s LFC 5000 fluid control system can monitor up to 32 fluids with 300 dispense locations. Multiple users can dispense fluids simultaneously on the same system, which utilizes wired communication for reliability and speed. The LFC 5000 features three levels of security so you can decide who can use, program and monitor the system.
