The review
Jim Gesell, owner of Gesell's Automotive in Oconomowoc, Wis., and his techs tested the Makita 10.8V cordless tools in the shop.
Overall, they liked the kit for interior and dash work, and light-duty jobs.
"I personally like the way it feels in your hand," Jim said. "It's got a nice grip to it. … It's not going to fly out of your hand."
They also liked the aiming LED on the front of the drivers, and felt the tools held a charge well. They did not have to use the charger often.
"It's got nice big numbers that you can actually see the torque number you're setting to," Jim said. "It's great for dash work, or to put hub caps on, and you've got your torque settings easy to see and switch.
"I would buy it," Jim said, "because I like the way it feels in my hands. And of course, I like the light."
