Q: How do I get to work on the brakes when the vehicle has been raised on a mobile lift?

A: As a mobile lift engages the vehicle by the tire, this typically means the tire is supported on and obstructed by the column. If you need to work on the tire, you have two options. The first is to position a jack stand under the corner you wish to lower, and lower the individual column so that it is free from the load and can be removed for wheel free access. The other option is to raise the vehicle by a crossbeam, which straddles the opposite columns and engages the chassis. This provides immediate wheel free access.
