Fluid Rx Diagnostics creates application for Aisin Group

Oct. 24, 2017
Aisin World Corp. of America debuted its new transmission fluid test kit at the 2017 AAPEX Show in Las Vegas.

Fluid Rx Diagnostics by Magna-Guard, Inc. announced it has developed a special “Instant Lubricant Diagnostics” transmission fluid testing kit especially for Aisin World Corp. of America; a division of Aisin Group – the World’s largest independent manufacturer of automotive transmissions.

The proprietary application provides the true condition of all transmission fluids used by every major OEM as well as aftermarket sources. The special “Tri-Spot” kit is Aisin branded and carries an Aisin part number.

“Over the past decade there has been a great deal of misinformation regarding proper maintenance of passenger car transmissions, said Aisin’s Clark Limbacher.  “While our goal is to build every transmission to last a lifetime, lubrication plays a big role in maintaining performance and ensuring prolonged durability. This is why we have added Fluid Rx Diagnostics analysis to our recommended practices. It may be the best method to determine if the fluid is providing proper protection from heat and premature wear,” he added.

“This is precisely the reason we developed the Fluid Rx Diagnostics process,” said Magna-Guard, Inc. CEO, Ron McElroy. “The ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association) estimates that 90% of transmission failures are due to fluid breakdown.  It is imperative to test and verify the condition of fluids so that fluid preventative maintenance can be performed before fluids become depleted.  Our Vital Fluid Analysis™ program utilizes patented chromatographic technology to do just that.  We verify the condition of fluids so service providers can show their customers why and when services need to be performed.  It is gratifying to have our technology recognized and implemented by Aisin World Corp of America.” McElroy concluded.

The introduction of the idea of “Lifetime Fluids” by some automakers has added an element of uncertainty to how car owners and service providers view preventive maintenance.  OEM time and mileage recommendations can only provide sufficient recommendations under ideal driving conditions.  However, most motorists do not operate under these guidelines.  The Aisin Vital Fluid Analysis program correctly focuses on fluid condition as the qualifier for servicing fluids.
