Learn from an ASE certified tech how to install an SKF heavy duty u-joint on a Freightliner Cascadia.
Detailed Description
Starting with a review of the necessary installation tools. Pete, an ASE master tech, demonstrates step-by-step how to properly inspect the u-joint yoke and cap for signs of a bad u-joint on a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia.
Next, he removes the Freightliner driveshaft and demonstrates how to remove the u-joint caps. After removing the cross, Pete reviews how to inspect the c-clip and yoke, followed by pressing in the new caps and installing c-clips.
Pete concludes this replacement of the SKF heavy duty u-joint with a demonstration of bolting the u-joint onto the driveshaft and a reminder to always torque to proper manufacturer specifications.
