Sept. 3, 2024
The FinalQC mobile app allows shops to ensure tighter quality control throughout the collision repair process.

PPG has partnered with software firm Flashback Forward, Inc. to offer an efficiency-enhancing quality control app for the collision repair industry called FinalQC. The mobile app automatically imports repair data from estimating and management systems and allows collision shops to identify quality issues in real time and ensure accurate repairs and reliable quality, while also simplifying product verification.

“This collaboration aims to transform the way collision shops operate, enhancing quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction,” said Tom Maziarz, PPG vice president, Americas, automotive refinish.FinalQC standardizes quality verification, empowering collision shops to deliver consistent, high-quality repairs while minimizing errors and rework.

By leveraging FinalQC’s features, shops should also be able to optimize work flows, reduce costs, and ultimately provide better customer service.

The real-time insights from FinalQC also allow body shops to reduce cycle times and improve overall efficiency, the companies stated. The app also provides QSI scoring for better data analytics and the ability to benchmark shop efficiency and incentivize employees.

Furthermore, shops can incorporate customizable standard operating procedure checklists onto the app, and the line-by-line audit function ensures quality control sheet are completely filled out. Collision repair technicians and service advisors can use the checklist to accept or reject repair operations.

Because small details that are often forgotten can be added to the list, such as verifying brake lights work and the exterior shows no water spot after cleaning, the shop can audit these are done and present the customer with an immaculate vehicle.

“FinalQC is the result of our dedication to building cutting-edge technologies tailored to the collision repair industry,” said David Caulfield, CEO and founder of Flashback Forward, Inc. “We are thrilled to partner with PPG in bringing this revolutionary mobile application to market, empowering repair professionals to achieve unparalleled levels of efficiency and quality.”
