Continental HSR+ 19.5

Continental to display two new 19.5” tires at TMC

Feb. 21, 2020
Continental will be displaying the 19.5” Conti HSR+ steer tire and Conti HDR+ drive tire, as well as new sizes for the HDL2 DL and HDL2 DL Eco Plus tires.

Continental will display their latest tires and digital tire monitoring solutions at the TMC Annual Meeting in booth #3557. Making their first trade show debut are two new 19.5” tires for Class 4 trucks: Conti HSR+ heavy steer regional tire and Conti HDR+ heavy drive regional tire. The tires deliver significant performance improvements in mileage and cut-and-chip performance, without sacrificing scrub resistance.

Continental’s regional 19.5” tires are designed for on/off-road regional applications, such as utility, where traction is necessary in combination with on-road mileage. The tires deliver high performance on highway at speeds up to 87 mph under full load, traveling up to 300 miles daily, and then under off-road conditions once they reach their destination. The durable casings are warrantied for retreading. Using a new cap/base tread compound, the tires deliver a 15 percent improvement in cut-and-chip performance and 12 percent expected increase in mileage versus the Conti HSR and Conti HDR predecessor products, according to the company. The Conti HSR+ is also available with a matching retread, the ContiTread HSR 16/32” all-position retread.

In addition to the new 19.5” products, Continental is also making several popular drive tires, the HDL2 DL and HDL2 DL Eco Plus, available in a new size: 295/75R22.5. This allows fleets to specify the same size tire on both the steer and drive axle, simplifying casing management.

Last year, Continental debuted its newest digital tire monitoring solution at TMC, the ContiPressureCheck Solo trailer TPMS. This system, along with the ContiPressureCheck TPMS for trucks and the ContiConnect Yard Reader platform for fleet yards will also be on display. Many of the digital tire monitoring solutions can also be integrated with telematics partners, such as PeopleNet, Geotab, Zonar, or Truck-Lite Co.’s Road Ready for trailers.
