April 29, 2021
The webinar will cover belts and drives, coolant science, and how to identify and resolve cooling system issues.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Friday, April 30 at 4 PM ET entitled “Diagnosing Cooling Systems and the Science of Today's Belt Drive Systems.”

Franklin Woodson from Gates Corporation will first provide an insightful look at belts and drives including:

  • Why is the accessory drive system so important?
  • How does a failing belt, tensioner, or pulley affect the accessory drive system?
  • Tensioners and pulleys are failure items.

Woodson will then explore coolant science and discuss:

  • How the condition of coolant can adversely affect the components in a cooling system.
  • Why is cooling system maintenance so important?
  • How does old, failing coolant or even the wrong coolant in a system cause issues?
  • How to identify the above issues and resolve them.

Those who are not sure if they can attend are encouraged to register so they receive a follow-up email with details on how to attend a recorded session, if available.
