Online CAFM Boot Camp opens doors between students and training

Oct. 23, 2015

According to the NAFA Fleet Management Association, shrinking travel budgets and increasing responsibilities can create barriers that make it difficult to get out to Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) Boot Camp events. Now, students of the CAFM program can get the assistance they need, along with their individual preparation efforts for the CAFM/S exams, because of NAFA’s online CAFM Boot Camp, a series of webinars that dig deep into the program’s eight modules.

"We had the training available, via our CAFM Boot Camp events, which we held a few times throughout the year, but fleet professionals expressed they could not make it to the locations we had arranged for," said NAFA CEO Phillip E. Russo, CAE. "NAFA is now able to set a date for each fleet module, and the student can take advantage of instruction right from where they are, from work or from home. We at NAFA feel this is going to make the difference for many fleet managers who simply couldn't travel to the CAFM Boot Camp."

NAFA’s CAFM Boot Camp is a forum where CAFM-certification students can get direct instruction on some of the more difficult concepts in the CAFM course materials. Results showed that candidates passed their exams 20 percent more after attending NAFA’s Boot Camp at I&E in 2012. The CAFM Boot Camp is targeted to help increase student study power for the exams. NAFA’s CAFM program is the industry standard for the fleet management profession.

The eight modules of the program have recently been revamped and the CAFM Boot Camp presentations will reflect these latest improvements. Each module will be presented over the course of 12 months according to the following schedule:

  •     Risk Management –  November 4 and 5, 2015
  •     Financial Management –  December 2 and 3, 2015
  •     Professional Development –  January 12 and 13, 2016
  •     Business Management –  March 1 and 2, 2016
  •     Information Management –  May 3 and 4, 2016
  •     Maintenance Management –  July 5 and 6, 2016
  •     Vehicle Fuel Management -  September 12 and 13, 2016
  •     Asset Management –  November 1 and 2, 2016

Each webinar will be allotted four hours over two days and will be scheduled for 12:00 to 2:00 PM EST.

NAFA’s online CAFM Boot Camp arrives along with other tremendous opportunities such as an amnesty program encouraging lapsed CAFM grads and students to come back into the fold. These are a part of NAFA’s celebration of the CAFM program’s 30th anniversary. More information can be found at www.fleetcertification.org.

"NAFA remains responsive to fleet professionals looking to enhance and enrich their fleet knowledge," added Russo. "Having NAFA's CAFM Boot Camp online ensures that everyone will be able to take part in this vital preparation without barriers. This is the next step to achieving the best in a fleet career."
