The award-winning online TTP program has been updated to include current 2012 ASE task lists and enhanced with new features to better ensure that technicians are adequately prepared for success.

Delmar, part of Cengage Learning and a leading provider of learning solutions for ongoing career development and education, announced an updated version of the online Technician Test Preparation (TTP) program, an innovative, online product designed to teach Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) standards and prepare professional automotive technicians for ASE certification exams.

Widely successful, the program covers the A1 – A9, L1, X1, P2 and C1 test areas and has been adopted by major national corporations as well as local, state and regional organizations. These customers have seen significant increases in numbers of ASE certified technicians, as well as in overall productivity.

The award-winning online TTP program has been updated to include current 2012 ASE task lists and enhanced with new features to better ensure that technicians are adequately prepared for success. The new program boasts 50 percent more questions to ensure a more well-rounded preparatory experience, full-color graphics and charts for increased understanding, and content and questions that have been updated to support the latest ASE task lists and readiness tests. The practice tests within the TTP program are generated from a vast database of questions, allowing users to take as many practice tests as needed without repeating the same test.

Designed as a detailed, three-tiered series, the program helps users to increase confidence in answering task-list based questions and in gaining test-taking assurance when performing in a simulated, timed exam environment. The three tiers of the program include:

  • Practice Mode – the suggested starting preparatory test mode presents detailed questions and provides answer explanations, links to relevant task list area(s), digitized videos, animations and engaging graphics designed to increase learning efficiency.
  • Standard Mode – removes the remediation element, and begins to transition the user to ensure comfort in a simulated online test taking environment.
  • Timed Mode – simulates the actual ASE exam, where each preparation exam is timed and results achieved are viewed only at the completion of the entire set of questions for each test area.

"We are excited to deliver these updates to our popular online TTP product," said Kristen Davis, director, professional transportation learning solutions, Delmar. "As a trusted resource for professional automotive technicians, and recently honored with the National Excellence in Training Award by ATMC, the TTP program has been proven to fully prepare users for ASE certification exams and increase the probability of passing on the first try. The program provides one year of access to ASE prep content, and has been created in both English and Spanish to better address the learning needs of all automotive technicians."
