The University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF) is offering various heavy-duty and automotive scholarships for technical students in four-year or two-year colleges, or ASE/NATEF certified automotive, collision, and heavy-duty/diesel post-secondary programs. For the academic year of 2025-2026, scholarship applications are due by March 31.
“The UAF scholarship program will have a record year in 2025, awarding more scholarship funds than ever so the recipients can get the education and training they need to begin a successful automotive or heavy-duty career,” said Roger McCollum, MAAP, chairman, University of the Aftermarket Foundation. “We encourage all those who are interested in applying to visit the UAF scholarship websites soon to complete and submit their applications in advance of the March 31 deadline.”
Students can apply at HeavyDutyScholarships.com, which allows them to fill out one application to be considered for several scholarships. Additionally, the site allows students to see the specific details of all of the scholarships available and update their application until the March 31 deadline. Some of the organizations providing scholarships on the site include Mitchell1, PPG Platinum, and ADS, and there are links to the applications for more funds from the Automotive Hall of Fame and Specialty Equipment Market Association, among others.
For students to qualify for the money, they must be a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university or an ASE/NATEF-certified post-secondary auto, heavy-duty, or collision repair school. They can also be graduating high school seniors planning to enter one of these institutions, or current students who won’t graduate from their college before December.
To apply through the online portal, students will need to write a one-page essay about their career goals, and can optionally post a short video on YouTube. Additionally, they’ll need at least one letter of reference, and potentially need to answer other questions or provide additional documentation depending on the organization providing the scholarship. Finally, applicants will need to submit their high school transcript and post-secondary transcript if applicable, although there is no GPA requirement to apply.
Students who email their applications must show their name and “Automotive Scholarship Application Information” in the subject line of the e-mail and provide a description of any attached files in the text.
