UTI-Orlando showcases technical training program growth

Oct. 10, 2022
The Florida-based vocational institute will allow future students and employers to network and explore the school's additions to their suite of technical training programs.

While the commercial vehicle repair industry is working to support its technician pipeline, the Universal Technical Institute-Orlando will be hosting an open house to showcase its planned expansion to its current roster of classes and labs.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, the Orlando facility will invite potential students, parents, and local employers to explore its upcoming programs in wind energy, aviation maintenance, HVACR, and more. These new courses will expand the institution’s offerings for the industry alongside its automotive and diesel programs, both of which already feature online lectures and in-person, hands-on lab training.

The open house will feature a tour of the facility, live demonstrations in the school’s industry labs where students will work, and more information on the programs and services the school already offers as well as its expanded educational portfolio.

As well as UTI-Orlando’s automotive and diesel training courses, the school also offers programs in computer numeric controlled operations, which provide digital-driven manufacturing for precise components; collision and auto-body repair, marine mechanics, motorcycle mechanics, and NASCAR technician and pit-crew training. Classes are offered every 3-6 weeks and often include in-person class time as well as lab-work components, depending on the course of study.

According to the school, 70% of their graduates progressed through their studies, graduated, and were employed within 2-3 years. With the facilities expanded repertoire of programs, the school may be able to add to those numbers, strengthening their contribution to the technician pipeline and offering greater opportunities to their high-school summer program.

The open house will take place at the UTI-Orlando campus, located at 2202 West Taft Vineland Rd., Orlando, FL 32837. Three tours of the facility will be offered at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m.
