SLEC awarded New Hampshire Air National Guard contract

April 7, 2017
SLEC, a manufacturer of heavy duty mobile lifts for military vehicles, will provide the base with 30 Type, 30,000 lb. mobile column lifts.

SLEC, a manufacturer of heavy duty mobile lifts for military vehicles, announced that the company was awarded a contract for New Hampshire Air National Guard.

Located at the Pease Air National Guard Base, the New Hampshire Air National Guard is the home of the 157th Air Refueling Wing, where fleet maintenance is performed on military vehicles.  As these vehicles are much larger than typical fleet maintenance vehicles, SLEC will provide the base with 30 Type, 30,000 lb. mobile column lifts.

TUG tractors pushback and tow all wide-body military aircraft.  The 30 Type mobile lift will be used to raise Model U30 Aircraft Gate Tractors, as these lifts can accommodate 60” rim tires.  Unlike SLEC’s standard 18 Type lift which accommodates up to 44” rim tires.

A perk for the New Hampshire Air Nation Guard is the ability to use the lifts in pairs, which allows the mechanics to tilt the front or rear of the TUG. Additionally, the 30 Type mobile lift includes interactive touch screen controls, and is fitted with the self-locking Acme threaded screw.  Which is, guaranteed self-locking, failsafe for ultimate safety precautions.  These features are also available on the more commonly used SLEC 18 Type and 12 Type mobile lifts.

Though it was an unusual request, SLEC was eager to produce these lifts, especially as the capacity was nearly double the standard mobile lifts.  Coupled with the large tire size of the vehicle the lift fits.

According to the President of SLEC, Allister Collings, “Our standard road jack will lift any vehicle with a road tire up to 44” outside diameter.  However, this 44,000 lb lift was designed to raise a 60” tire. You can see for yourself how much bigger the 44,000 lbs lift is than the 18,000 lbs lift SLEC typically offers.”

The new lift demonstrates SLEC’s willingness to participate in projects which are a little out of the ordinary.  Our competitive prices and on-time delivery allow SLEC to standout in the marketplace.  All SLEC lifts are backed up by a nationwide team of field based service technicians, and we are proud to serve you.
