Gorilla safety appointed Shannon McLeory director of sales, a new role that will focus on business development and strategic sales efforts.

Gorilla Safety, provider of an innovative, proprietary and patented software solution that fully automates all aspects of fleet and safety management, announced the appointment of Shannon McLeroy to the post of director of sales.

In this role, McLeroy will focus on business development and strategic sales efforts as well as oversight and management of Gorilla Safety’s current client base. He will also seek to expand both the company’s sales initiatives and team of dedicated professionals.

McLeroy brings more than 20 years of experience in the information technology business development arena to Gorilla Safety. Previously, he led the Houston office of Innovative Management Solutions Inc., a Dallas-based IT management company, where he oversaw a range of scalable projects using the company’s IT solutions, talent and resources. He also was a relationship manager at SMBology, Inc. in Houston, an IT firm offering strategic consulting, user experience design and application development. Here, McLeroy worked with clients and partners to implement best technology solutions to optimize overall project management.

Earlier, McLeroy founded ClearWorks, a Houston-based technology product development company. As founder, he ran day-to-day operations, growing the company from a startup to $32.5 million in revenue with 250 employees in four cities, before merging the entity he took public and sold to Eagle Wireless.

Throughout his career, McLeroy held various IT project management roles and consultant positions, all of which developed the leadership skill set he possesses in the space today.

“Shannon is a seasoned professional, who, along with many other career highlights, previously built his own successful business from the ground up before merging it with a leading competitor. Therefore, his entrepreneurial experience made him an excellent candidate to assist in driving sales for our company. His decades of expertise will bode well for Gorilla Safety as we bring our novel solution to market,” commented Gorilla Safety co-founder Mark Walton.

“His business development capabilities in the high tech and information tech areas will certainly have an impact on helping elevate Gorilla Safety amongst the types of customers we are targeting with our new fleet and safety mobile app and solution, including all constituents involved in the fleet management process, ranging from fleet managers, office staff, drivers, mechanics and owner operators. We look forward to the contributions Shannon will make in his new role as he leads Gorilla Safety’s efforts to further penetrate the fleet management industry,” Co-founder Tommy Johnson added.

“I joined Gorilla Safety because I was attracted to and motivated by the entrepreneurial spirit at the company, as well as the autonomous culture that is being created by its co-founders. This presents an opportunity to build, shape and grow the enterprise as we bring an unparalleled technology solution in fleet safety and management to market. This position affords me the chance to be part of an exciting, fast-paced startup that not only developed pioneering technology with the potential to change the way fleet management is conducted, but also one whose mission is to use its technological savvy to improve the safety on the roads all across America,” McLeroy said of his new role.

McLeroy, who lives Cypress, Texas, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Lacrosse University in Covington, Louisiana. He holds a range of IT certifications across myriad software solutions and hardware competencies.
