The Cortec Heavy Duty Cleaner with Flash Rust Protection, No. VpCI-414, is a heavy duty alkaline cleaner-degreaser that protects metal parts against flash rust during and after cleaning. This product is non-flammable and works well for removing oils, greases, temporary coatings and non-silicone-based waxes from metal and painted surfaces. When removing temporary coatings, the viscous, ready-to-use formulation will cling to overhead and vertical surfaces for enhanced cleaning and protection, the company says. After being left to stand for 10 to 15 minutes, VpCI=414 and the underlying grease or coating can be removed with a water spray.
