Bosch announced the addition of more than 13,000 confirmed fixes to its ESI[truck] heavy-duty diagnostics tool. The subscription service, ESI[repair], will be available in early 2016. The Bosch ESI[truck] diagnostics tool will include fixes specific to vehicle year, make, model, module, engine, transmission and diagnostic code. ESI[truck] covers all major North American HD truck, MD truck, engine, transmission and brake system combinations with diagnostics and embedded repair information.
When ESI[truck] finds a DTC, the integrated repair information can be viewed while still in data stream. Techs will save time by not switching applications, helping them fix faster.
All current tool owners will receive a free trial of ESI[repair], helping them fix faster and take advantage of the tool’s coverage. New tool buyers will receive a free trial two-week access to the database before having to purchase the annual subscription for continued access.
ESI[truck] will run parameter resets, conduct bidirectional diagnostics and engine adjustments. The tool also includes wiring diagrams, component information, electrical specification and step-by-step troubleshooting for common causes on error codes. To access all OEM codes, modules, bidirectional tests and new coverage updates, tool owners must maintain an active subscription with Bosch, renewals available now.
Unique to the HD aftermarket, ESI[truck] covers most makes, models and engines, comprising:
- HD Diagnostics coverage: Freightliner, International, Kenworth, Mack, Volvo, Peterbilt, Sterling, Westernstar, MD Trucks, Sprinter Van, Isuzu, GM and Ford.
- Engine coverage: Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel-MBE, Deutz, MTU, Navistar, PACCAR, Perkins and Volvo, and includes medium- and light duty software.
Adhering to industry communication standard RP1210, the tool will read and clear codes, perform calibrations, track service schedules, read data streams and component technical data. It also includes basic OBD II scan for light duty trucks 1996 and newer.
ESI[repair] will be available in Q1 2016 through Bosch’s traditional distribution methods.
