The NationaLease Maintenance Managers Meeting held in May in Frisco, TX, generated rousing discussions about some of the top challenges facing truck maintenance professionals today.  Among the list of topics: maintenance of CNG trucks; fleet management system technology adoption; and the effect of GHG 14 regulations on maintenance practices.

Dean Vicha, president of NationaLease, opened the three-day event for the North American organization of independent full service truck leasing companies which run a combined customer fleet of more than 125,000 tractors, trucks, and trailers maintained at 600 service locations. Vicha was followed by the event’s keynote speaker, business leadership expert Jim Whitt, who spoke about the power of change.

Other topics covered over the three-day event included: electrical systems; CNG with a focus on overall service readiness; technician recruiting initiatives including a session on NationaLease’s partnership with Universal Technical Institute; reducing downtime; enhancements to the organization’s Road Rescue program; and fleet management system technology adoption.

In addition to the educational sessions, the NationaLease meeting held its own Tech Challenge leading up to the TMC SuperTech Competition in the fall and announced the recipients of the National Exceptional Service Award for organization members who provided exemplary reciprocal emergency roadside service over the last year.

The NationaLease Product and Technology Fair is another highlight, attended by leading suppliers and maintenance professionals.  For more details about the meeting, click here.
