Mobile Air Conditioning Society draws 1,250 to training event and trade show in Orlando, Fla.

Automotive air conditioning repair shop owners network, learn and see new tools and equipment.

Approximately 1,250 automotive air conditioning professionals converged on the Caribe Royal Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. for three days of training, networking and a trade show for the Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS). The event featured several seminars on diagnosing air conditioning issues and the use of new refrigerants.

Attendees also spent time learning about new air conditioning tools and equipment at a trade show, where manufacturers demonstrated their products and answered questions from attendees. Several manufacturers showed new equipment for servicing the HFO 1234yf refrigerant, which is slowly being introduced to the market.

Robert Gagliano, president of Advanced Air Conditioning Inc. in New Berlin, Wis., noted during one of the seminars that a seminar on using a wiring diagram to trace an air conditioning problem was helpful. Gagliano noted that every shop will not likely have every shop or scan tool to diagnose a problem.

Danny Spitznagel of Fort Walton Radiator and Auto Air of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., a board member, found seminar on customer service helpful because it offered techniques on how to handle customers. He also found a state of the industry seminar keynote presentation interesting.
