TMD FRICTION had global sales in 2010 of $854 million US dollars. TMD FRICTION is the largest supplier in the world for the Original Equipment Market (OE) with a European market share of 60% in commercial vehicles.

TMD FRICTION is also the largest supplier of air disc brake pads to the commercial vehicle sector as well as supplying advanced brake technology to the motorsport market worldwide. Key wins include Daytona 500, Sebring, LeMans, Nurburgring 24 and the US Nascar series.

In 2011 TMD FRICTION was acquired by Nisshinbo Holdings, Inc, a €3 billion global corporation with a diversified technology portfolio, encompassing automotive brake components, textiles, paper products, chemicals, and mechatronics. Combining the Nisshinbo brake division with TMD FRICTION, creates the world’s largest brake friction manufacturer with total friction sales in excess of €1 billion and brings together over 6,000 employees dedicated to providing engineered solutions for all friction requirements.
