Talbert Manufacturing updated the 60CC/55SA-LD trailer for increased flexibility to meet differing hauling regulations. The trailer showcases a hydraulically operated system to allow operation of the third axle only or a combination of third and fourth axles. The 60CC/55SA-LD also features an 18” loaded deck height and 6” ground clearance. It also gives operators the ability to switch between configurations for load versatility and limiting the need for additional permitting.

Talbert Manufacturing will showcase a customized 3+1 configuration of the 60CC/55SA-LD trailer at booth #F5504 during CONEXPO-CON/AGG, March 10-14, in Las Vegas, highlighting the trailer’s versatility. The show model is designed to be under 53’ overall length with a 28’ deck length and tandem axle trailer with provisions for a third and fourth axle capable of a 2, 3, 4, and 3+1 axle configuration set up. Capacity for various configurations are: 55 ton in 10’ two-point rigid load base with 108” swing and four axles close coupled; 55 tons in 13’ two-point rigid load base with 132” swing and 3+1 E1Nitro axle extension; and 60 tons in 13’ two-point rigid load base with 108” swing and four axles close coupled.

“When you look at the overall size of heavy-haul loads, a couple inches might not seem consequential; but to our customers, those two inches can make a world of difference,” said Troy Geisler, vice president of sales and marketing, Talbert Manufacturing. “Talbert has always been at the forefront of heavy-haul innovations, providing the trailers customers need to operate safely and efficiently in industries around the world. The 60CC/55SA-LD offers these operators the flexibility they need with a single trailer.”

The base model of the 60CC/55SA-LD features a 108” swing radius, 26’ deck length and 8’ 6” deck width. Additional customization is possible, including a 24” flip gooseneck extension that increases swing radius to 132” and allows greater load transfer capabilities.

Like all Talbert trailers, the 60CC/55SA-LD offers a deck capacity rating. With a four-axle, close-coupled configuration, it provides a 55-ton capacity in 10’ and 60 tons in half the deck length. It is also rated for 55 tons in half the deck length with a 132” swing radius and 3+1 configuration with the E1Nitro axle extension system. This system uses a combination of hydraulic fluid and nitrogen to equalize axle pressures, providing proportionate weight distribution of each axle grouping to optimize the range of suspension movement and minimize stress for a smoother ride.

The 60CC/55SA-LD is manufactured with heavy duty T-1, 100,000-psi minimum yield steel for durability and longevity. Valspar R-Cure 800 paint is standard on all Talbert trailers to prevent corrosion, offering a long-lasting finish.
