“This collaboration with Wabash represents a significant step forward for the industry,” said Dan Forthoffer, vice president of Research and Development at Phillips Industries. “We developed the REAR-VU Camera to provide consistent visibility for any driver operating a trailer, regardless of ownership. Wabash is the first trailer manufacturer to make REAR-VU a standard option on trailers, and we look forward to seeing how these devices perform in the field so we can expand the offering.”
The REAR-VU Camera is a universal backup camera system that lets drivers access real-time, high-definition video from behind a trailer by scanning a QR code on the trailer nose. It offers drivers a 170-degree view from behind the trailer, including the trailer’s rear bumper, doors, and an additional 50’ behind the vehicle. Installation is easy and the camera connects with a Wi-Fi connection that reaches up to 70’.
