Among the fuels the trucking industry is investigating as an alternative to diesel is the synthetically-produced Dimethyl Ether – DME for short. Mack Trucks, for one, is assessing its suitability.

He says DME is a good substitute for diesel.

Mack Trucks sees on-highway, regional-haul applications as one of the first uses for DME fuel.
