A propane-autogas-powered Ford F-150 will stop in Phoenix, Seattle and Salt Lake City as part of a 5,300-mile cross-country trip highlighting the benefits of propane autogas.

The Alliance AutoGas Coast-to-Coast Clean Air Ride will commence on May 2 in Kansas City, Kansas and visit 12 total cities as part of a tour designed to educate fleet managers about propane autogas. The stops in Seattle, Phoenix and Salt Lake City serve in part to highlight the millions of gasoline gallons displaced by local propane provider and one of Alliance AutoGas’s founding members, Blue Star Gas.

“Air quality is a top priority in these areas and our customers are helping to eliminate harmful emissions,” said Darren Engle, director of government relations for Blue Star Gas. “In these three cities combined our fleet customers displace 2.8 million gallons of gasoline per year and eliminate more than 4,400 tons of greenhouse gases. Clean air is of the upmost importance and we’re excited to help tell that story in our market.”

Blue Star Gas joins 19 additional event sponsors including Alliance Autogas, a national consortium of propane suppliers, the American Lung Association of the Southeast, Inc. and numerous Clean Cities Coalitions across the country.

Preparations for the cross-country trip began in March when the Ford F-150 truck was converted to a propane autogas bi-fuel system in record time at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. After departing Kansas City the tour will make three stops in the Blue Star Gas service area:
