For years, fleets have used cost-per-mile to measure how well they’re doing. While there’s no standard formula for determining cost-per-mile, most of you include some (or all) of the following: miles driven, the cost of the truck, insurance, licensing/permitting, fuel, tires, driver pay and maintenance.
Unfortunately, when calculating the maintenance costs, you usually focus only on the cost of the repair. But the bill for the repair doesn’t even come close to telling you the true cost of maintenance and its impact on your real cost-per-mile. Decisiv's whitepaper can be found at http://bit.ly/1uy4NcE.
