BeyondTrucks, Breakthrough integrate for fuel invoicing

BeyondTrucks is integrating Breakthrough’s Fuel Recovery solution with its transportation management system. This allows BeyondTrucks fleet customers to calculate their fuel amount for invoicing with mutual shipper clients.

“Traditional fuel surcharge calculations that rely on national or regional average fuel prices often result in significant discrepancies between actual carrier fuel costs and benchmark rates, leading to inaccurate load acceptance decisions and potential over and underpayment by shippers,” said Hans Galland, CEO of BeyondTrucks. “Breakthrough’s Fuel Recovery solution provides market-based fuel reimbursement calculations based on exact prices, timing, taxes, and geography of freight movements. This integration allows BeyondTrucks fleet customers to simplify compliance with a shipper’s fuel pricing requirements, making fleets more attractive partners.”

BeyondTrucks’ fleet management platform provides intake automation, smart load planning, dispatch communication, configurable driver workflows, and automated invoicing and driver payroll. The new integration also means carriers with the solution won’t need to handle manual lookups when working on transactions with shippers, streamlining fuel cost management.

As an example, Modern Transportation is a chemical, liquid, and dry bulk carrier. Prior to the integration, the company manually used Breakthrough’s Fuel Recovery for about 50 shipments per month, according to BeyondTrucks. Now, Modern Transportation uses the integrated Fuel Recovery for hundreds of transactions per day.
