Hexagon Purus agreed to supply GILLIG, a designer and manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses in the U.S., with hydrogen fuel storage systems for GILLIG’s hydrogen fuel-cell powered buses. Hexagon Purus will be supplying these systems from its facility located in Westminster, U.S.
“It's about offering a solution that's not only flexible enough to fit every fleet but also matured through our thoughtful approach to product development, ensuring reliability and readiness for the demands of today's transit environment,” said Ben Grunat, GILLIG’s VP of Product Planning and Strategy. “We are happy to team up with Hexagon Purus as a reliable partner and supplier of hydrogen fuel storage systems to strengthen our commitment to leading the industry through innovation and strategic partnerships.”
According to both companies, hydrogen will be critical in decarbonizing “hard to abate” mobility sectors, and that making green hydrogen more available will be an important step in the energy transition in this area.
