Continuation of move to vertically integrated powertrain solutions

Detroit Diesel Corporation continues its move to optimize development of vertically integrated powertrain solutions by announcing the re-naming of the Detroit Diesel Genuine Parts brand to simply Detroit Genuine Parts.

The former Detroit Diesel reliabilt brand will be folded into the Detroit Genuine Parts brand as well.

Detroit Genuine Parts will continue to offer a full range of maintenance, repair and overhaul options for its engines that will now expand to cover transmissions and axles.

The brand’s remanufactured offering includes cylinder heads, water pumps, turbochargers, fuel injectors, diesel particulate filters and complete engines.

“Detroit remanufactured components are truly remanufactured to like-new condition, restoring them to top performance,” said Daniel Haggerty, director of parts and service marketing for Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), of which Detroit is a part. “All carry the Detroit Genuine Parts 1-year/unlimited-mile warranty for peace of mind.”

With the same reputation for reliability, performance and value customers expect, Detroit Genuine Parts, purchased and serviced at authorized Detroit service outlets, will support the Detroit integrated powertrain platform for all Daimler Trucks North America brands, including Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses and Freightliner Custom Chassis, he added.

“Detroit Genuine Parts stand for the highest quality possible, ensuring that your integrated powertrain solution maintains the same trusted, durable performance that it had when it rolled off the assembly line.

“The new name reflects our commitment to innovation in powertrain technologies and maintaining our customers’ assets with genuine OEM parts that meet and exceed performance expectations.”
