SAF-Holland, a manufacturer of heavy-duty commercial vehicle components, broke ground on its new manufacturing plant in Piedras Negras, located in Coahuila, Mexico on March 8.
The new facility in Mexico will produce products for the U.S. and Mexico markets, with the manufacturing focus on Holland fifth wheels.
“This investment allows us to better meet customer demand, delivering our fifth wheels more quickly to tractor manufacturers, dealers and customers,” said Kent Jones, president – Americas for SAF-Holland. “The additional manufacturing space not only enables us to serve our customers better but provides for future growth.”
Its construction is part of the overall ongoing efforts to increase capacity output from the SAF-Holland North American plant manufacturing network. The first phase will employ 150 people. The over 158,000-sq.-ft. facility opens August 2023, and is located on more than 9.25 acres of land.
