Daimler Truck Financial Services increases ZEV support

Sept. 17, 2024
Daimler Truck’s financial division is building a zero-emission vehicle portfolio to offer to customers, including charging infrastructure solutions and insurance and payment projects.

Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS) now offers several products to support zero-emission vehicle introduction for fleets, including vehicle financing and charging infrastructure support.

"The transformation into a holistic provider of integrated service solutions reflects our commitment to help shape the future of emission-free transport," DTFS CEO Stephan Unger said. "Our approach ensures that customers can not only finance a vehicle, but also include the charging infrastructure and electricity in their total cost of ownership (TCO) at fixed monthly installments.”

As an example, DTFS is already working with Electrada, a charging infrastructure provider, to offer a “Charging-as-a-Service” package, including advice, vehicle financing, charging station installation, and an integrated electricity tariff. This package is currently being pilot tested by Salem Carriers.

The company plans to offer more such products, including more solutions for charging infrastructure, expanding its insurance business for electric vehicles, developing its rental business to include ZEVs, and establishing a payment solution for EVs in the U.S. Currently, DTFS is brokering insurance products including both conventional insurance and electromobility, and is offering long- and short-term ZEV rentals.

The company is also developing a payment solution for ZEVs in the U.S.
