Ford F-150 unexpected downshift can cause loss of control

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2014 F-150 vehicles. A loss of signal between the transmission output shaft speed sensor and the powertrain control module can cause the transmission to unexpectedly downshift into first gear, regardless of vehicle speed. Unexpectedly downshifting into first gear may result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 552,188 vehicles. Dealers will update the powertrain control module software. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed July 1. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S37.

International models’ tie rod failure can cause loss of control

Navistar is recalling certain 2025 International HV, LT, MV, and RH trucks. Tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that may have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure. Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 116 vehicles. Dealers will replace the tie rod ends and realign the front axle. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 12. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24509.

Isuzu FTR tie rod failure can cause loss of control

Isuzu Motors is recalling certain 2025 FTR vehicles. The tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure. Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 38 vehicles. Dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod and center link assembly, as necessary. All affected vehicles are still within dealer inventory, and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2402.

Rivian R1S & R1T incorrect weight capacity

Rivian Automotive is recalling certain 2022-2023 R1S and R1T vehicles. The maximum vehicle capacity weight value on the tire placard label is incorrect. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 666 vehicles. Rivian will mail owners a corrected overlay tire placard label. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 3. Owners may contact Rivian customer service at 888-748-4264. Rivian's number for this recall is FSAM-1491.

Tesla Cybertruck front windshield wiper failure & improperly adhered trunk bed trim

Tesla is recalling certain 2024 Cybertruck vehicles. Excessive electrical current can cause the front windshield wiper motor controller to fail, and the trunk bed trim sail applique could have been improperly adhered and can loosen. Both problems can increase the risk of a crash.

These recalls potentially affect 11,688 and 11,383 vehicles, respectively. Tesla service will replace the wiper motor and apply adhesion promoter and pressure sensitive tape or replace missing applique as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 18. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 877-798-3752. Tesla's number for the windshield wiper recall is SB-24-17-006, and the number for the trunk bed trim recall is SB-24-12-006.
