There is still time to register for the Tire Industry Association (TIA) and MOHR Retail’s virtual Commercial Tire Store Leadership (vCTSL) and virtual Retail Tire Store Leadership (vRTSL) classes, both of which start May 3.
The courses are designed to help tire store managers develop the interpersonal and leadership skills managers need to retain, engage, and enhance their teams’ productivity and deliver exceptional performance and customer service.
The vCTSL class is targeted at commercial tire store managers, owner-managers, and service managers/shop managers.
Coursework for the vCTSL class will cover:
- Role of the leader
- Discovering your leadership style
- Communication skills
- Setting performance expectations
- Improving below-standard performance
- Effective floor and field supervision
- Coaching in real time
The vRTSL class is designed for retail tire store managers, owner-managers, and service managers/shop managers.
Course work for the vRTSL class will cover four modules:
- Foundations: Role of the leader
- Setting performance expectations
- Improving below-standard performance
- Effective floor supervision—coaching in real time
The vCTSL class will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM/noon EST every Tuesday and Thursday from May 3 to May 26 and the vRTSL class from 1 PM to 3 PM EST on the same days.
Students who attend all eight sessions of each class and do the pre-work will receive a completion certificate.
The cost for each class is $750 per student. Class size is a minimum of nine and a maximum of 16 people.
The classes are taught by Glen Nicholson, a former automotive service technician, tire store manager, district manager, and past senior director of retail training for TBC Corp. Additional vRTSL classes will be offered in September and October 2022.
