The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is now offering an online option for technicians taking the automobile maintenance and light repair technician (G1) certification test through Prometric’s ProProctor platform.
“At ASE, we continually strive to improve the test-taking experience and that is why we have expanded ASE remote testing to include the G1 certification test,” said Dave Johnson, president and CEO of ASE. “ProProctor remote testing has become very popular among those taking ASE recertification tests. By adding this option for the G1 test, we can offer more flexibility to those pursuing this initial certification test.”
The G1 test addresses some of the most common maintenance and light repair tasks technicians handle in the shop. It includes 55 scored questions and 10 unscored research questions discussing maintenance and light repairs in:
