Former Fleet Maintenance editor Erica Schueller joins the OEM’s communications team as media relations manager.

Navistar announced Erica Schueller has been named Media relations manager as a member of the company's communications team.

Schueller will apply her expertise in the commercial vehicle industry by supporting International on-highway, medium-duty, and vocational trucks. Additionally, she will work with the IC Bus team to advance the brand’s leadership position in safety and technology in student transportation. In her new role, she’ll facilitate media outreach, coordinate interviews and events with media representatives, and apply her journalism background to share developments on behalf of the organization. Schueller will work directly with Bre McCloud (Whalen), who recently took a new role on the communications team with responsibility to grow Navistar’s thought leadership profile and overall corporate reputation.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Erica as an editorial director, editor, and journalist since first joining the industry three years ago,” said Whalen. “She brings robust industry knowledge, strong editorial relationships, and creative approaches to storytelling to our growing team. In Navistar’s current environment of growth and change, Erica is the perfect person to enrich our relationships with industry media and champion our company stories.”

Before joining Navistar, Schueller lead the content team for the Endeavor Commercial Vehicle Group as Editorial Director. The Endeavor Commercial Group is comprised of trade media brands including FleetOwner, Fleet Maintenance, Trailer/Body Builders, Bulk Transporter, and Refrigerated Transporter.

An award-winning journalist, Schueller has reported and written about the transportation industry since 2007. She has received accolades for her reporting and editing in the commercial and automotive vehicle fields by several industry groups including the Truck Writers of North America (TWNA), the International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC), the Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards, the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) Azbee Awards, and the Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI) Tabbie Awards.

Schueller is an active member of several industry groups including American Trucking Associations' (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) and Women in Trucking. She also holds an active Class A commercial driver license.

“I’m thrilled to be able to pursue my passion of connecting the individuals and companies who support the commercial vehicle industry,” said Schueller. “I look forward to this next chapter of my professional career, learning more about the organization, and sharing that information with the others. With the recent TRATON acquisition and rapid pace of change in our industry, it’s an exciting time to join this team and I look forward to building continued support and interest in Navistar.”
