AAIA to hold final health care law webinar Dec. 17

Dec. 10, 2013
Webinar to cover group health plan requirements.

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is hosting its final, complimentary, 30-minute, members-only webinar on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. EST on group health plan regulatory requirements and audits. The webinar will be presented by Anita Baker, managing principal, employee benefit plans, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. This is the final in a series of five webinars hosted by AAIA during fall 2013 on different aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The first four webinars can be found at AAIA’s members-only, healthcare resource center at www.aftermarket.org/healthcare.

The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires plan administrators of group health plans to furnish plan information and notices to participants and beneficiaries and to submit reports to government agencies. Plan administrators with group health plans that have more than 100 participants at the beginning of the year are required to file a Form 5500 Annual Return/Report with the Federal Government. The Form 5500 reports information about the plan, its finances, and its operation. This information is used by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), other government agencies, organizations, and the public.  A plan may be subject to an independent audit under ERISA or may be audited by the DOL or IRS.

Presenter Anita Baker specializes in providing assurance, tax and consulting services to plan sponsors and third-party administrators. She is responsible for CliftonLarsonAllen’s national employee benefit plans practice and is a leading consultant on the impact of health care reform on group health plans and employers.
