Samsara releases new products, partners with ACSS

Nov. 22, 2024
The safety and efficiency solutions provider has debuted three new products revolving around GPS, brake monitoring, and increased privacy in the cab.

Samsara has unveiled several new products at the Go Beyond conference in London, including Low Bridge Strike Alerting, Electronic Brake Performance Monitoring System, Privacy Mode. Additionally, the company is partnering with ACSS, a provider of commercial vehicle camera and security solutions.

"These new product features have been driven by Samsara’s deeply embedded culture of customer feedback,” said Kiren Sekar, Samsara’s chief product officer. “We collaborate with some of Europe’s largest and most complex operational companies to solve hard problems using the unparalleled scale of our regional and global data. Our customers are using our platform to turn this data into real human impact by making roads safer and reconnecting their people to the work they love doing.”

The Samsara Low Bridge Strike Alerting feature lets operators set a maximum height for their vehicles, which the Samsara Dash Cam uses to provide in-cab audio alerts if an upcoming bridge is too low for them to pass. Next, the company’s Electronic Brake Performance Monitoring System (EBPMS) collects data from installed EBPMS units and then alerts managers when a truck is not braking properly or if there are any faults. Finally, Samsara now offers a Privacy Mode feature in its video-based safety solution, allowing driver and outward-facing cameras to be turned off by administrators while still triggering during AI-detected safety events.

In addition to Samsara’s latest product announcement, the company is also partnering with ACSS to combine the former’s dashboard with the latter’s cameras. This will let users view camera feeds, analytics, and operational insights all from one dashboard.

“Harnessing the power of Samsara, ACSS are able to add, for the first time, 1080p, 360 vehicle coverage straight into the client dashboard,” said Paul Howell, Sales and Marketing Manager at ACSS. “With the ability to pull through camera feeds from our DVS2 AI solution too, customers are finding dual return on their PSS investment. With the compliance box ticked they’re also able to use those same cameras to feed directly into their dashboard.”
