Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Truck & Buses US Holding, and Paccar completed their joint venture, Amplify Cell Technologies, to localize battery cell production and the battery supply chain in the U.S. Additionally, Amplify named Kel Kearns as its new chief executive officer.

Amplify will construct a 21-gigawatt-hour factory in Marshall County, Mississippi, which is set to open in 2027. The facility may also expand as demand for its differentiated lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cells grows.
Kearns has held several leadership roles in the automotive and manufacturing industries. Most recently, he served with the Ford Motor Company for nearly three decades, with his last posting prior to joining Amplify Cell Technologies as the plant manager for BlueOval city, Ford's Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center.
Accelera, Daimler, Paccar each own 30% of Amplify. EVE Energy, a lithium ion and lithium battery supplier, is the company's technology partner and holds 10% ownership. EVE Energy is also providing its battery cell design and manufacturing expertize to the venture.
