ESAB Welding & Cutting Products will offers hands-on demonstrations, in-booth celebrity appearances, contests and vehicles at SEMA 2018 held at the Las Vegas Convention Center Oct. 30 to Nov. 2.

ESAB will be in booth No. 21615 located in the Central Hall, Racing Annex.

Welder Up, the custom car shop famous for “the wildest rat rods known to man” and the Discovery Channel’s Vegas Rat Rods!, will sign autographs on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Welder Up team at the ESAB booth includes Steve Darnell, Travis Deeter, Justin Kramer, Merlin Johnson and ESAB Elite partner Joe Giamanco. Welder Up will also bring “Welding Rig,” an iron worker-themed truck, to the ESAB booth.

“We’re pleased to announce ESAB is now the official welding partner of Welder Up. To celebrate, ESAB will give away a killer, one-of-a-kind Rebel EMP 215ic TRUE multi-process welder custom painted by Welder Up’s Travis Deeter,” says Steven Molenda, Direct of Global Marketing Communications and Strategies, ESAB. For a chance to win, visitors must participate in a welding or cutting product demonstration. All participants receive an ESAB T-shirt, and the grand prize winner walks away with a customized Rebel.

Hands-on Demos

Ian Johnson, professional fabricator, off-road expert and host of Big Tire Garage (a new streaming show that launched late August) will appear every day in the ESAB booth. In his fourth consecutive year working the SEMA show, Johnson is now an official ESAB spokesperson. Over the years, he has improved the welding and cutting skills of hundreds of visitors, working alongside ESAB experts. Johnson will also produce several videos from the ESAB booth during the show, as well as a “Day at SEMA” video each morning that recaps the previous day’s events.

“Whether visitors have no fabrication experience or are seasoned professionals, ESAB welcomes everyone to get under the hood and personally experience ESAB equipment,” Molenda says. “Ian’s background as a technical instructor enables him to answer just about any question, whether welding or off-road related.”

Featured SEMA products include ESAB’s growing series of Rebel welders, including Rebel EMP 205ic AC/DC, a compact, portable, multi-process welder with outputs for MIG, Flux-Cored, Stick and AC/DC TIG welding for both steel and aluminum TIG. Other products available for live demos include Rebel EMP 215ic and 235ic, the Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 60i plasma cutter and the ET 186 and ET 200i for AC/DC TIG welding.
