Diesel engines manufactured today are cleaner than ever.

In this installment, Fleet Maintenance editor David A. Kolman chats with Dr. Stephen Charlton, vice president and chief technical officer of the Engine Business at Cummins. They discuss how engine and equipment manufacturers are intensifying their efforts to improve the fuel economy of heavy duty trucks now that they have just about conquered diesel emissions.

Kolman and Charlton also talk about the SuperTruck program - a government funded research and development program focused on significantly improving the freight and fuel efficiency of Class 8 trucks. Then, they take on the matter of how telematics has become the cornerstone of efficient logistics and fleet management solutions.
