Jacobs Engine Brake now standard on International A26 engines

The engine brake comes factory installed on International LT Series, RHTM Series, and HV and HX Series vehicles.

Jacobs Vehicle Systems, a manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engine retarding systems and valve actuation mechanisms, announces the availability of the engine brake model 5783A as standard equipment on the International A26 engine.

Since 2009, Jacobs has supplied a compression release engine brake for International Truck’s 13-liter engine. Jacobs is proud to have the 5783A engine brake as standard equipment. The Jacobs Engine Brake increases foundation brake life improves drive-ability and lowers the total cost of ownership of A26-powered International trucks equipped with this engine brake, according to the company.

“Over the past decade, Jacobs has partnered with International Truck to provide the end user with better driving experiences,” said Steve Ernest, vice president of engineering and business development, Jacobs Vehicle Systems. “Today, we are excited to be a standard feature on the International A26 engine, complementing their technologies for the on-highway, severe duty, and vocational segments.”

The Jacobs Engine Brake is now standard on the International A26 engine and comes factory installed on International LT Series long-haul vehicles, International RHTM Series regional haul vehicles, and International HV and HX Series severe vehicles.
