Zonar has made its Zonar Emissions Check system generally available to the public. The program has been certified by the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Clean Truck Check (CTC) program as a continuously connected remote on-board diagnostic testing device to assist with emissions compliance in the state.

“We’re excited to bring this solution to market to support fleets in meeting important regulatory compliance, but also to help meet long-term emissions and sustainability goals,” said Greg Colvin, senior director of solutions engineering at Zonar. “Emissions Check delivers accurate pass/fail results without taking vehicles offline for testing, enhancing fleet efficiency and productivity.”

Emissions Check, when paired with the Zonar V4 telematics control unit, can conduct emissions scans on vehicles that meet CARB’s CTC requirements, while also only sharing this data with CARB when required. This will ensure CTC compliance without requiring maintenance technicians to run additional emissions tests or requiring drivers to reroute to testing facilities. Additionally, when used with Zonar FaultIQ, Emissions Check provides notifications of emission faults that need attention before a potential testing failure.

The first emissions testing window in California is open, with enforcement beginning January 1, 2025.
