    The Meritor 14X HE Tandem Rear Drive Axle is engineered with precision-finished gearing, high-efficiency (HE) bearings, and laser-welded components. The 14X HE features a spiral bevel gearing design for improved surface finish and reduced friction. It also features two Meritor Lube Management Systems to the carrier of the forward axle to deliver more efficiency as well as reduce the lube level and minimize churning losses. The 14X HE delivers fuel efficiency gains up to 1.5 percent and 30 lbs of weight savings over the current 14X model, says the company.
