Bosch expands into heavy-duty market with new air-disc brake pads
"Nine times out of ten, it came down to, 'how can we make the brakes last longer so we don't have to have frequent brake jobs or be taking this truck to the shop every six months,'" he explained.
According to tests run by the company, both the Long Haul and Severe Service HD pads show up to 20% less wear and superior stopping ability than OE pads.
“We’ve been a leader in the braking space for nearly a century, and we can now extend that same reliability and performance into our heavy-duty portfolio, giving fleet owners, technicians, and distributors a trusted partner they can turn to for every part of vehicle servicing," said Thu Teesdale, director of product management at Bosch Mobility Aftermarket.
Like the rest of Bosch's brakes for the past decade, the new line is copper-free, which eliminates the past issue of copper contamination of the environment.
